Textile Industry

Brief Introduction

Textile industry is one of the advantageous industries of Jiangyin, boasting a full range of products, a complete industrial chain, advanced equipments, a prestigious reputation, powerful production capacity, highly competitive brands and a constellation of many leading companies. In 2010, the sales income of all above-a-certain-production-scale textile companies in Jiangyin has reached RMB 110.9 billion, enjoying an annual growth of 17.52%, while the sum of tax and profit has totalled 8.01 RMB billion, increasing 26.7% annually. Also, the industry has reported the worth of $ 2.524 billion in the exporting of garment products, of which, $ 0.84 billion was contributed by exporting of fabrics, an annul growth of about 39.88%. As for the production of woolen fabrics, the year of 2010 has seen a total production of 0.142 billion meters long or an annual growth of 15.42%, accounting for 47.1% of that of the Jiangsu province or 25.07% of that of China.

As the world's largest woolen textile manufacturer, Jiangsu Sunshine Group has grown into a high-grade apparel production base. The same reputation belongs to Hailan Group which, based on the production of worsted woolen fabric, has become China's largest male apparel production center. Jiangsu Shenli Enerprise Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Fuhui Textile Co., Ltd and iangyin Qixin Textile Co., Ltd. Now all rank No. 1 in terms of production volume of knitted polar fleece products, knitted fabric and dying process and knitted grey fabric and weaving process respectively. Jiangsu Hongliu Bedsheet Limited Company ranks No. 1 among all Chinese exporters of wide-size high count and high density dyed fabric and superfine bedclothes. Jiangyin Firster Textile Co., Ltd. is the research and development center of color yarn-dyed fabric products in China while Hangyang Textile has become the first research and development base of knitted linen fabric in this country. In all, there are now 5 research institutes, 5 public service platforms, 2 affiliations of post-doctoral programs and 6 listed companies in Jaingyin textile industry. Together with Zhouzhuang Town being famous for its chemical fibre industry and its cotton textile industry, plus Zhutang Town and Gusan Town known for their knitted clothes industry, Jiangyin textile industry, one of the top ten textile industrial bases of this country, has secured its place in the list of '100 best industry clusters in China' and has been entitled 'China's fine textile enterprise cluster' and 'Jiangsu province's first batch of bases fostering high end brands'. By the end of 2010, the number of fabric-making companies above a certain production scale has reached 168 while as many as 245 companies has successfully exported their fabrics abroad.
